Groberg Films will produce a three-part, six-hour mini-series about philanthropy and humanitarian efforts around the globe that work. As the world village both grows and shrinks, the programs will illuminate our interconnected humanity, showing how individuals can tether themselves together to raise up the whole human family. ~January, 2019

First Freedom: The Fight for Religious Liberty premiers this month. First Freedom details the progression of religious liberty from pilgrims and Puritans to the creation of the Bill of Rights and how it shaped a new nation. The rich history explored in these pages through exquisite text and rich photographic illustrations increases our knowledge of—and gratitude for—a nation that protects the free exercise of faith.

September 2012:

October 2011:

Fires of Faith: The Coming Forth of the King James Bible premiers this month. This intriguing three-part documentary series features more than 130 reenactments filmed in eight countries, with great care taken to represent the scenes visually and historically accurate. Commentary from 18 international scholars and religious leaders tells the story of one of the greatest committee efforts in history, resulting in the most influential and enduring book the Western world has ever seen.

First Freedom: The Fight for Religious Liberty

A Two-Hour Documentary Film by Lee Groberg

PURPOSE: The viewer will understand that the right of freedom of religion, which was written into the U.S. Constitution as the First Amendment, instigated a fundamental shift in human history. No other aspect of the American Revolution was as intrepid in its own time, or ultimately, as influential worldwide. “FAITH OF OUR FATHERS” profiles the generation of colonial Americans who raised the ideal of religious freedom to the level of a fundamental human right and carved it into law.

TITLE: “First Freedom: The Fight for Religious Liberty” reflects the contribution of both men and women in the founding of the United States of America.

WRITERS: Doug Brinkley and Julie Fenster. Both are eminently qualified as writers and scholars. They recently co-authored Parish Priest. Doug’s recent works include: “The Reagan Diaries” and “The Great Deluge” (see his rather impressive bio online: The late Stephen Ambrose dubbed Doug as “the best of the new generation of American historians.”

DIRECTOR/PRODUCER: Lee Groberg, GROBERG FILMS, has over 20 years experience in the production of historical documentaries (see: Adding to numerous film awards, Lee Groberg’s most recent PBS production, “THE SWEETWATER RESCUE” just received the George Washington Honor Medal from Freedom’s Foundation at Valley Forge (see attached). He has directed and produced ten documentary films over the past 15 years.

PARTNER: WETA, Washington DC (see: is partnering with GROBERG FILMS to bring this program to the national spotlight on PBS Television. Groberg has produced five documentary films for nationwide broadcast on PBS. WETA is the official station for major PBS documentary films such as Ken Burns’ CIVIL WAR, BASEBALL, and upcoming, THE WAR: The Story of World War II.

TIMETABLE: Premiering in October, 2012.

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH: The budget includes an educational outreach program to provide teacher’s guides and educational bonus features to the DVD program copy for secondary schools nationwide. WETA has a team in place for writing and producing this “must have” addition to the broadcast program.
